Looking for Harley - Day 5

Woke up early - for me any way and once we had breakfast, packed and said our good-byes, we were on our way heading north again. Rode around Nashville - in the rain and saw a sign for a Harley dealership at the next exit. Paged Ed on the intercom - got to love these things - and we got off in search of the dealership.

Finally found Appleton's Harley-Davidson in Clarksville, TN. The service guys there couldn't have been more accommodating. I explained the problem, they asked if we were travelling and got me in and back on the road in under 2 hours. Turned out to be bad front wheel bearings. While the bike was there I also had them change out the rear brake pads - the ones in there just didn't feel right. Nice bunch of guys. So much for the pre-bike check to make sure all was in good shape for a ride of this kind.

Once back on the road - no sign of rain. Just goes to show, wear rain gear if you want to avoid getting rained on.

Made it to Champaign, Illinois - 320 miles or so, found a place to stay and got some grub.

Tally - 5 states, 2 time zones, front wheel bearings, new, brake pads and a total of 2156 miles since Key West.
